Strokes Of Genius - Drawing on Experience
Youth Art Program for 11yrs+
This series of weekly art classes runs for 8 weeks during school term from 3:30-5pm for Youth age 11+
It is designed for youth who have a strong interest in developing their artistic skills and creative ideas or those who have been in the children's Art classes with Taranaki Creative Kids
Each session begins with a group discussion, this way touching in and reconnecting as a group. talk about our week, share things we may have found inspiring or ask advice from peers about the direction of their project. (We Connect/Society)
Following this is a workshop designed to develop artistic skills and techniques. These are focusing on traditional art forms (sketching & drawing with various dry media, Painting, Collage and Sculpture). (I Create/Skills)
The remainder of the session is then the time set aside for Creative Action. Freedom to explore more deeply the art form they most connect with during the workshops, to create and develop a personal project. Encouraging our youth to push boundaries, experiment and explore new ways of connecting to their own creativity and self-expression. (I Am/Self)
