The little extra addition to the watercolour beginners foundation classes. In the foundation class I cover the materials needed for watercolour painting and foundation understanding of colour theory. There will be links included below for you to see the blog posts regarding those topics. The next part is painting your first picture. In this video you can watch and listen to a whole lesson of the Folk Art Flower we paint in the Foundation Class. This exercise is all about practice and precision. Remember ... your first attempts might be terrible, and thats OK! Keep practicing simple things like this to build up a great bank of knowledge about watercolour painting. Consider also, if we can trace this simple drawing, we can trace anything. Experiment with different patterns and designs.... maybe try your own drawing. Materials ListFor this painting I am using - Windsor and Newton Cotmans - Prussian Blue - TAD Watercolour Paper 300gms - DaVinci Squirrel Hair Brush size 6 - Rigger Brush - for fine fine work - Tracing Paper - Graphite pencil - Water I talk about my technique during this video. Try this lots of times! Try it in lots of colours. Practice, Practice, Practice. |
