My name is Joni and I am an addict ...
As any of you who have come to my workshops, or those who read this wee blog will know, I have an bit of an obsession with Sacred Geometry (Understatement? !!)
In today's posting I'm going to introduce you to Phi.
For those who have come to my workshops, I hope this will also help as a reminder of how to draw this magical pattern.
If you want to skip straight to the video tutorial I have made for you .... just skip all drawing steps, after that you will find my video.
Further on, at the end of this post is a little more in depth information about What It Is... I'm sure to most its all pretty boring, dry stuff, I'm a geek so I kinda like all the theory that goes with it too :)
So... what is this thing?
It looks all "math-sy", but it really is super cool and so pretty!
It can be made with just a compass and straight edge... No Numbers or mathematical equations need friends!
It goes by many names, The divine proportion, the golden number, cosmic code, sacred geometry ...
Basically, in its simplest function, it is natures way of maintaining balance and harmony within the growth of everything.
It is a huge subject and I can only touch on the simplest parts here. If it is a subject which resonates with you, there are many great books filled with writing much more sophisticated than mine which you could dig into. I will reference a couple at the end of this post if you want to grab some more information to learn about this huge topic.
You only need a few simple tools to draw this pattern
Here it is in action!
There you have it!
Easy isn't it!
The Theory Stuff ... (Yawn)
Please leave a comment below, show me your drawings, tell me this is super cool (?) ... or contact me directly through email.
I would love to hear from you
Warmest creative wishes
